The whole Bromo trip was perfect and the hotel owners helped us so much. He can pick up guests from the airport to the hotel. Just tell him we need a jeep, and he'll arrange it for us. As tourists, all we had to do was walk out the door at the appointed time and see the jeep driver pick us up at the hotel gate and help us into the car. The Jeep driver will arrange all the trips, including sunrise watching, jeep photo taking and horse riding. It was an amazing ride, we rode up to the volcano and only had to walk a few steps to see the crater.AAnonymous - 8.0Scored 8.0

There are wonderful volcano and beautiful sunrise in Bromo. The journey of hiking under the mountain through the volcanic ash is amazing. The fly in the ointment is that the riding service provided by the locals always raises huge dust, and there are some very dangerous places such as the ridge without any signs.

Nothing compares in the whole world to the Bromo area. It is worth coming for a few days. If you love amazing views, out of this world views, that is what you will find. If you only stay for one night to see a sunrise, you will miss much that vis special about this area. The road up to Bromo has been upgraded and not nearly as scary as it used to be and is a pleasant drive. A new walk opened up that will take you through exquisite farming land right up to the outer rim of the Caldera. Bukit Pusung Agung Track.

This is one-off experience in Indonesia to see the beauty of a dormant volcano and its surroundings. The expedition starts with jeep taking you from hotel to sunrise spots towards north-western side of volcano, be mindful of breezy cold conditions and ensure you have caps and jackets worn. You can see amazing views of smaller Batok mountain alongside smoke emitting Bromo crater as dawn emerges. After sunrise the jeep brings you down to main desert arena where you can walk or take a horse to reach the base of volcano and then climb up more than 200 stairs to have the amazing view of volcano. Later, the jeep takes you to southern side lush green savanna dunes. If staying in Bromo, your tour may start around 3:00 am, and back to hotel by 9:00 am. So you can return to Surabaya or Malang the next day.
